Terms of Service

Last updated: April 15, 2026

Welcome to Shift Leader. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Shift Leader website and app ("Service"), operated by Lorenzo Solomon ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. What Shift Leader does

Shift Leader is a shift-coverage platform. Employees, managers, and teams use it to post shifts that need coverage, claim open shifts, send reminders, and coordinate scheduling. The Service is available at getshiftleader.com.

2. Your account

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

4. SMS messaging

If you opt in to SMS by submitting our SMS signup form, you agree to receive text messages related to shift coverage — reminders, confirmations, open-shift alerts, and similar. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. Details are in our Privacy Policy. SMS consent is never a condition of using Shift Leader.

5. Your content

You own the content you post to Shift Leader (shift details, team info, notes). By posting content, you give us a limited license to store, display, and deliver that content to other users on your team as needed to run the Service. We don't claim ownership of your content and we don't use it to train AI models or resell it.

6. Fees

Shift Leader is currently free for small teams. If we add paid features, we'll clearly label them and give you a chance to review the price before you're charged. If you're already using a feature for free, we won't silently start charging you for it.

7. Service availability

We work hard to keep Shift Leader running 24/7, but we can't guarantee 100% uptime. From time to time we may need to take the Service down for maintenance, updates, or to deal with technical problems. We'll try to give advance notice when we can.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We don't guarantee that shifts will be covered, that reminders will always be delivered on time, or that the Service will always be bug-free. Shift Leader is a tool — not a substitute for your own scheduling judgment and communication with your team.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the Service, including (but not limited to) lost wages, missed shifts, lost business, or data loss. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

10. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account. We can suspend or terminate your access if you break these Terms or if we need to for legal or security reasons. On termination, any rights you had to use the Service end immediately.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll post the updated version here and change the "Last updated" date. Significant changes will be announced by email or in-app. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the new Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that can't be resolved between us will be handled in the state or federal courts located in South Carolina.
