Shift Leader ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Lorenzo Solomon in Sumter, South Carolina. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it simple because we believe you should be able to read and understand a privacy policy in under five minutes.

1. Information we collect

Account info: your name, email address, phone number (if you provide it), and the team or business you're part of.
Shift data: the shifts you post, claim, or are assigned to — including times, locations, and notes you add.
Device and usage info: basic information like browser type and the pages you view, used only to keep the service running and troubleshoot bugs.

2. How we use your information

To run the Shift Leader service — posting shifts, sending notifications, coordinating coverage.
To send you notifications you've opted into — email reminders, and if you opt in, SMS reminders.
To respond to your questions or support requests.
To keep the platform secure and prevent abuse.

3. SMS messaging — opt-in, use, and opt-out

We only send SMS messages to users who explicitly opt in. You opt in by entering your phone number on our SMS signup form and checking the consent box. We do not add phone numbers to SMS from any other source.

Message types you may receive:

Shift reminders (e.g. "Your shift starts in 30 minutes at [location]")
Shift confirmations (e.g. "Your shift tomorrow at 9:00 AM has been confirmed")
Open-shift alerts for shifts matching your availability
Account-related messages, such as verification codes

Message frequency: varies by your role and team. Most users receive fewer than 10 messages per week.

Message and data rates may apply from your wireless carrier.

Opting out: reply STOP to any message to cancel SMS from Shift Leader at any time. You can also remove your phone number in your account settings. For help, reply HELP or email [email protected].

We do not share or sell phone numbers or SMS opt-in information to any third party for any reason. Phone numbers and consent data are used only to deliver the SMS messages you opted into.

4. Who we share information with

We do not sell your information. We share it only with:

Service providers we use to operate Shift Leader — such as Cloudflare (hosting), Resend (email delivery), and Twilio (SMS delivery). These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies.
Your team or employer — the people you share a Shift Leader team with can see the shifts, schedules, and notes you post in that team.
Legal requests — if required by law, subpoena, or to protect safety.

5. Data retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time by contacting us. When you delete your account, we remove your personal information from our systems within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or accounting reasons.

6. Your choices and rights

You can access, update, or delete your account information at any time.
You can opt out of SMS by replying STOP to any message, or opt out of email in account settings.
You can request a copy of your data by emailing us.
If you are in a jurisdiction with additional privacy rights (like California or the EU), you may have extra rights to access, correct, or delete your data. Contact us to exercise them.

7. Children

Shift Leader is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and let us know if you see anything suspicious.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date above. For significant changes that affect your rights, we will notify you by email.
